Tāhuhu Thursdays – Link bridge Enabling Structure
Find out about the complex designs needed to connect the two-level link bridge to the National Library.
In this Tāhuhu Thursday session Mark Crookston (Programme Director Documentary Heritage) and Murray Darrell (Design and Construction Manager) gave an insight into the complex design for the enabling structure needed for the National Library to connect the link bridge leading to the new Archives Building. This design is complex with significant seismic differential movements due to the two buildings having opposing modes of dealing with seismic action.
